Snake Rating Scale
The Venomous rating scale was determined by my good friend Dean Ripa of the Cape Fear Serpentarium. This scale is based on Dean's vast experience in dealing with these creatures. It is designed to give us a broad idea of how deadly or dangerous each species of venomous snake is. Within each species there are other factors that can come into play when determining how dangerous a snake is. These can include the age of a snake or whether it was wild caught or bred in captivity. Use this guide only as a guide and ALWAYS use caution around any snake, venomous or not. (Image copyright Linden Kostich)
